If you are starting or currently operating a small business, don’t be intimidated by larger companies. I used to think organizations that had been around for a while had it all together. They must know what they are doing, right? Add a little comparison and a little imposter syndrome -  how could I possibly do what they are doing? 

But then we partnered with one of these larger companies, and I quickly realized I had only seen the image they projected. I hadn’t witnessed the failures and struggles along the way. 

Here is the surprising secret that might give you some hope - big companies don’t always know what they are doing either. They are making it up as they go along, just like the rest of us. The same problems still exist, just on a larger scale.

Be bold. Be confident. Take the leap. You are smart. You are just as qualified as anyone else to operate a business. Don’t let comparison cripple you. It doesn’t matter that you don’t know how to do everything yet. You will figure it out. Go do the work and let the product speak for itself.
